Welcome back to my blog, and today I will be continuing with the second part of the previous article and predict the knock-outs of Euro 2024. Without further ado, let’s get right into it!

Round of 16:

Spain Vs. Scotland: 3–1 win to Spain

This Ro16 match-up should be easy work for Spain, who will blow away Scotland by 3 goals leading to Scotland responding with a solitary consolation courtesy of Scott McTominay.

Germany Vs. Denmark: 2–1 win to Germany

Germany will control the game, and despite a Denmark equaliser, I predict a Florian Wirtz wonder goal will win the game for Germany.

Portugal Vs. Slovenia: 4–0 win to Portugal

Portugal will provide us with the monstrous scoreline against Slovenia, demolishing them by 4 goals to none.

Austria Vs. Ukraine: 1–1, 4–3 to Austria on penalties

This game will be extremely close and both teams will play well, but in the end Austria will win the game on penalties after penalty misses by Ukraine, with one miss from Chelsea starlet Mudryk breaking the internet.

Belgium Vs. Croatia: 1–1, 5–4 to Belgium on penalties

Another tight game will follow the Austria and Ukraine game, with Belgium winning on penalties after some goalkeeper heroics from Sels. That would undoubtedly cause Thibaut Courtois to burn from within after being outrageously snubbed by Belgium boss Tedesco.

France Vs. Turkey: 2–0 win to France

France will get the job done easily, with goals from Griezmann and Dembele clinching France a spot in the round of 8.

England Vs. Netherlands: 2–1 win to England

This game will be highly competitive, with England conceding a goal first. However, they will come back and England’s beloved Jude Bellingham will score the winner from a corner to keep England’s hopes alive. You can certainly believe there will be multiple renditions of ‘Hey Jude’ belted out by English fans at the stadium and across the globe.

Hungary Vs. Italy: 1–1, 5–4 to Hungary on penalties

Finally, the last Ro16 game will provide us with the shock of the tournament as current champions Italy will crash out early against a resilient Hungary. A last minute equaliser by talisman Szboszlai will ensure Hungary take it to extra time and then penalties, where they will win by a shock penalty miss by someone like Berardi or Raspadori.

QFs onwards:

My knock-out bracket made on UEFA.com via their tournament bracket game

Spain vs Germany: 1–2 win to Germany in extra time

A vibrant Spain side will be painfully knocked out by Germany in extra time, with veteran Thomas Muller popping up with a crucial winner after 100 minutes of football.

Portugal vs Austria: 2–0 win to Portugal

Portugal should win easily, steamrolling Austria across the park to clinch a 2–0 win.

Belgium vs France: 0–2 win to France

France will win this game quite comfortably, beating an ageing Belgium side by 2 goals to none.

England vs Hungary: 3–0 win to England

Finally, England will trash dark horses Hungary to make it to the semis in emphatic fashion.

Semi Finals

Germany vs Portugal: 2–1 to Germany

Germany will book a spot in the final by winning 2–1 against Portugal without much cause for worry, controlling the game from the very start through their brilliant midfield.

England vs France: 1–1 ,England, win 5–4 by penalties

England will clinch a historic victory against France, taking revenge for Qatar 2022 where the Three Lions were dumped out of the tournament by a late Giroud goal after a Kane penalty miss. Harry Kane will redeem himself this time, scoring the final penalty, after which Pickford will make a phenomenal save to establish himself as an England legend and single-handedly carry England into the final.

Final

England vs Germany: 2–1

Euros finals are usually tense and tight, and I can see a narrow 2–1 shock win for England happening to win England their first major international trophy since 1966. England made it to the finals last time as well but got their hearts broken with a loss to Italy on penalties. The Three lions will right the wrongs of that Euro 2021 final, and etch themselves into the history books with this shock win. Germany, however, will slip up at the very last moment after an outstanding campaign on home soil. They will unfortunately fall short of winning the trophy in the final, but a successful tournament after their last 3 major tournaments ended in failure will surely elevate Julian Nagelsmann’s fantastic reputation.

With all that being said, I hope you enjoyed my take on what the Euro 2024 knock-out phase will look like. Do let me know what YOU think will happen during this tournament and look out for more content on the Euros coming out soon! Till then, adios!
