Welcome back to my blog, and today we will be reviewing the matches which occurred on Matchday 3. Let’s get started.

Switzerland vs Cameroon: 1–0

A Swiss victory was pretty much guaranteed, and now I feel my prediction of Serbia going through ahead of them was a bit premature. Switzerland somehow always make it to the last 16, and Thursday’s win will be a crucial 3 points for them. Cameroon, on the other hand, have much to improve, and Eric Choupo-Moting definitely requires much more service if they are to stand a chance against Serbia and Brazil.

Uruguay vs South Korea: 0–0

This match was similar to yesterday’s 0–0 draw, where both teams were good on the ball and created chances, but just couldn’t get that final pass and finish. Both teams eventually grew into the game, but you couldn’t help but feel that Uruguay were a shadow of themselves.

Portugal vs Ghana: 3–2

This match was pretty boring in the first half, but both teams attacked well in the second, before Portugal pulled away with 2 rapid fire goals. Ghana did give them a scare with a second goal and a chance in what would be the final kick of the match, but Portugal held on somehow to secure 3 points.

Brazil vs Serbia: 2–0

This match was a bit lacklustre, and while Brazil secured the win, it was only due to the class of Richarlison. He looked world-class against Serbia, and that second goal should win goal of the tournament. I never thought I’d say this, but it looks like Brazil’s hopes could rest on him performing well this World Cup. Jesus was no where near his level, and he should continue starting for the time being.

That’s all for this article, do look out for the next one which will be coming very soon. Apologies for the delay in releasing this article, and till next time, adios!
