One transfer each Premier League team NEEDS this summer
Welcome back to my blog, and today I will be sharing with you all the one transfer each Premier League team need this summer. Ready? Let’s get started.
Arsenal — Gianluca Scamacca
Arsenal desperately need a striker, and while others have backed them to sign players like Richarlison, Gabriel Jesus or Osimhen, I expect them to sign Scamacca. Scamacca has burst onto the season at Sassuolo, scoring 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances this season for the men in Green and Black. The Italian forward has the skill, style and swagger Arsenal fans look for in their players, and has the room to further grow his talent as well. As a young striker aged only 23, Scamacca would thrive under Arteta at the Emirates and should take the chance to make the jump to the Prem.
Aston Villa — Kieran Tierney/Aaron Hickey
Aston Villa already have a splendid left-back in Lucas Digne, but the Frenchman is 29 years old, and Steven Gerrard will want to have an eye to the future while signing players this season. He’s already signed two massive players, Diego Carlos and Kamara, and it’s highly likely no one else will come in, but with Lucas Digne the only senior left-back in the squad, Aston Villa should sign Aaron Hickey from Bologna, or if he makes the switch to the Emirates, lure Kieran Tierney to Aston Villa. Both are top Scotland left-backs with potential to grow and thrive under Gerrard, and they would be shrewd signings for Villa.
Bournemouth — Lewis O’Brien
Bournemouth need a solid midfielder if they want to stay up, and Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien would be their ideal signing. The 23 year old has impressed with exceptional performances this season, and will want to make the switch to a Prem side this summer to further his career. Leeds United and Nottingham Forest are also allegedly interested in the midfielder, but Bournemouth should fight hard for him if they would like to spend more than just one season in the Prem.
Brentford — Christian Eriksen
Brentford just need to resign Eriksen, and they should be ok for this season. Eriksen has had a massive impact on the Bees since his arrival, and Thomas Frank’s main focus this summer must be on convincing him to stay.
Brighton — Brerton-Diaz
Brighton just need a prolific striker to finish off their chances to fight for an European spot, and Brereton-Diaz would be the ideal signing. The Blackburn Rovers striker has been exceptional in the second flight for the Roses, and he would do well at the Falmer Stadium under Graham Potter. Adam Armstrong’s Southampton move may not have gone to plan, but Brighton are different. They aren’t signing Diaz as a replacement, they’re signing him to enhance an already top side, so I have a feeling this transfer could work wonders.
Chelsea — Jules Kounde
This one was obvious. Chelsea really need a centre-back, and Jules Kounde is one of the best. He’s been consistently class at Sevilla, and would do well under Tuchel. A solid, young centre-back who resemble Thiago Silva would jump at the chance to actually learn from Thiago Silva, and he would certainly do well at Stamford Bridge if given the chance.
Crystal Palace — Conor Gallagher
Honestly, Crystal Palace really just need to permanently sign Conor Gallagher. He was a warrior at the heart of the Eagles’ midfield, and Viera would rather continue coaching Gallagher than have to sign another midfielder and wait for him to adapt to Viera ball. Gallagher is a future England international who will be a mainstay in any midfield he players for, and Palace will never get any player better than him to sign for their club. Just do it, Palace.
Everton — Wout Weghorst
Everton are already signing Burnley’s star man James Tarkowski, and signing Wout Weghorst as well would be a mighty blow to those at Turf Moor. However, with Richarlison on his way out, Wout Weghorst would serve as a worthy replacement. Sure, he didn’t light up the world at Burnley, but he was clearly not comfortable in a side fighting to stay up. Put him in this Everton side battling for top 10 next season, and he would be far more motivated and comfortable. He has been consistently prolific for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, and should do a tidy job for the Toffees until they sign a younger striker the next summer.
Fulham — Luka Milivojevic
Fulham require a steely midfielder to allow Harry Wilson to roam freely without worrying about defending much, and Milivojevic would certainly fit that description. He played a similar role this season, allowing midfield partner Conor Gallagher to play further up the pitch and make a difference in the attack, while he himself stayed back and helped serve as the link between defence and attack. The Eagles’ captain has been playing for them for a long time, and this move could allow him to test himself with a new challenge, especially after his drop in form and playing time this season.
Leeds United — Dest
Leeds’ defence has been extremely leaky this season, and they desperately need a more defensively sound left back. To solve this, I suggest they sign Barca full back Sergino Dest. The American never truly settled at Barca, and while he mostly plays at RB, some of his better performances have been from when he played as LB. While the last signing from Barca didn’t go as well as Leeds would have hoped, Dest still has the skillset and versatility to thrive as a full back for the Whites under Marsch, and would be a very shrewd signing.
Leicester City — Nathan Collins
Leicester need a new centre-back, and fast. Caglar Soyuncu and Vestergaard have been terrible the whole season, and Nathan Collins from Leicester would be a far better partner with a fit Fofana. Johnny Evans has been decent at the King Power Stadium, but age is clearly catching up to him. Signing Nathan Collins to replace him and perhaps Soyuncu (who was the worst out of the two I mentioned earlier) would be a smart signing for Brendan Rodgers. Collins was never really given a fair chance by Sean Dyche, and the young centre-back would surely prefer to play at the Prem than remain at Burnley and face the risk of not being wanted by the next manager as well. The Foxes would love to sign someone with as much potential as he has, and this could be a great signing for them.
Liverpool — Robert Lewandowski
Do it. Jurgen Klopp, you have to. Sadio Mane wants a move to Bayern, and Lewandowski wants out of the Allianz Arena. Do a swap deal which clearly benefits everyone, and reunite yourself with one of the best players you have ever coached. The Polish hitman would thrive at Liverpool, and would light the Prem on fire. Just imagine if the Bundesliga’s two best strikers both signed for the Prem’s two top teams. Next season’s title race would be the stuff of legends. Give Lewandowski whatever wages he wants, and just make this happen.
Manchester City — Marc Cucurella
Man City don’t really need anyone, but just sign another left-back I guess? Left-back has always been Man City’s weak spot, and Cancelo has been filling in the position this season quite well. Cucurella has been great for Brighton this season, however, and could possibly do well under Guardiola.
Manchester United — Frenkie De Jong
Whatever happens this window won’t matter if we don’t sign Frenkie De Jong. The Netherlands international has been pretty ok at Barca, but honestly he would do far better at Old Trafford under his old coach. We all know what he can do on his day, and a midfield of De Jong, Van de Beek and Bruno Fernandes is mouth-watering. A massive upgrade from McFred, that’s for sure.
Newcastle United — Lucas Paqueta
Newcastle have already signed a Brazilian from Lyon, so why not pair him with his compatriot and sort out your midfield for the next 5 years? Paqueta has been pretty good at Lyon all these years, and Guimaraes and him together at St James’ Park would be a pretty fiery duo.
Nottingham Forest — Djed Spence
In all honesty, while Nottingham need more than a couple of reinforcements this summer, the most crucial signing would be Djed Spence. The English right-back has been electric at the City Ground the whole season, and would be exceptional in the Prem. Which Prem he plays for, however, we will find out in a couple of months, with Arsenal, Tottenham, United and of course Nottingham Forest all linked to him.
Southampton — Levi Colwill
Get him in on a loan or even a permanent transfer if permanent, but just sign him up. Colwill has been exceptional for Huddersfield on loan from Chelsea, and he will be eyeing up a Prem loan to gain valuable playing time. Southampton need a new centre-back, and Colwill would fit perfectly.
Tottenham — Alessandro Bastoni
Imagine a centre back trio of Eric Dier, Bastoni and Romero. That defence would be impenetrable, which is why Conte is eyeing up a reunion with former player Bastoni. The young Italian CB has been great for Inter these past two seasons, and signing for Tottenham would boost the Lilywhites chance of posing a threat to the title hopes of Liverpool and City.
West Ham United — Armando Broja
Signing Southampton loanee and Chelsea’s young talent Broja would be both a money smart and football smart signing. The striker has impressed fans with his performances on the South Coast, and signing him would be a smart move. He may not be the most prolific yet, but Moyes could develop him into a top player. While the move could be a risky one considering his lack of experience, West Ham should sign him for the sheer talent he has.
Wolves — Brandon Williams
Brandon Williams did decently well on loan at Norwich, but was helpless in stopping the Canaries from finishing rock bottom (again). However, he has caught the eyes of many Prem sides like Southampton and Brighton, and he could prove to be a smart signing for Wolves. They need a left-back, and could do worse than sign the young Englishman. Even if he returns to United, he will have to challenge Shaw and Telles for a starting spot, and he would be tempted by the vacant starting spot at Wolves.
