Welcome to the last part of this Transfer Analysis, and we will be looking at 4 teams, which includes Burnley, Norwich City, Watford and Brentford, who won the promotion play-offs yesterday night to enter the Premier League for the first time in history. Thanks to all those who have been consistently reading the articles in the series, and let’s get started.

Burnley

Need to Buy: Shane Long (Southampton), Chris Mepham (Bournemouth), Townsend (Crystal Palace), Danny Rose (free agent), Adam Smith (Bournemouth) Jeffrey Schlupp ( free agent), Danny Welbeck (Brighton) and Jack Wilshere (free agent).

Need to Keep:Sean Dyche, Nick Pope, Chris Wood and Dwight McNeil

Need to Sell:Bardsley,Dunne, Stephens, Gibson, Rodriguez/Barnes

The Clarets comfortably escaped relegation this season, but the people in charge at Turf Moor will be less than satisfied, to say the least. The chairman of Burnley has promised Sean Dyche new signings this summer, but my guess is that they will be aiming to sign mostly free agents to maximise savings. There is certainly no lack of free agents this season, and i have mentioned 5 free agents (including Townsend) who they should aim to sign. They should also look into signing the two Cherries defenders who will be talented yet relatively cheap signings to make given the Cherries failure to gain promotion. They should also aim to prevent Sean Dyche from leaving to manage the Eagles (crystal palace), while also preventing a raid on their three stars. Finally, they should sell the players mentioned above to make way for the new signings.

Norwich City

Need to Buy: Gibson (Burnley),Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea), Oliver Skipp (Tottenham), Sam Johnstone (West Brom), Conor Townsend (West Brom), Sebastiaan Bornauw (FC Koln), Danny Welbeck (Brighton) and Marc Guehi (Chelsea)

Need to Sell:Drmic, Leitner, Stiepermann and Byram

Need to Keep: Max Aarons, Emi Buendia and Todd Cantwell

The Canaries have been flitting around the Championship and Premier League in recent times, and they will need to make major reinforcements to stand a chance of staying in the PL, as they found out in 19/20 when they failed to make major waves in the transfer markets and thus went straight down to the Championship. They should aim to make the loans of Skipp and Gibson permanent, and sign the other 5 affordable and skillful footballers who should be easy to sign permanently or on loan, with the exception of Townsend. The obsolete players like Drmic should certainly be moved out given the huge amount of money they cost the club, and Norwich will certainly HAVE to try and keep Aarons, Buendia and Cantwell away from the top clubs in Europe.

Watford

Need to Buy: Lundstram (free agent), Hauge (AC Milan), Ashley Young (free agent), Ashley Fletcher (Middlesbrough), Hamza Choudhary (Leicester City), Matt Ritchie (Newcastle United), Mbaya Diagne (Galatasaray) and Ben Davies (Liverpool)

Need to Keep:Ismaila Sarr, Troy Deeney, Tom Cleverley and Joao Pedro

Need to Sell: Rob Elliot, Cucho Hernandez and Pusetto

While I don’t feel there is a need to get rid of many players in the squad, I do feel they should loan or sign a couple of them, given the fact that their squad played some of the dullest football according to the stats, with their over-reliance on Ismalia Sarr being a huge factor. The Hornets suffered when their talisman wasn’t playing, and thus will be looking at some major creative reinforcements this summer, as well as a few defensive ones to provide cover to their defence. These include the likes of Ashley Young and Lundstram, Premier League Veterans, as well as some exciting youngsters like Davies and Choudhary. Finally, they should be looking to keep their captain and vice-captains, as well as their two attacking talents.

Brentford

Need to Buy: James Garner (Manchester United), Shola Shoretire (Manchester United), Joshua King (Everton), Ben Davies (Liverpool or Tottenham), Clyne (Crystal Palace), Danjuma (Bournemouth), Charlie Wyke (Sunderland), Shane Long (Southampton), Takumi Minamino (Liverpool), Jack Stephens and Ashley Barnes (Burnley), Danny Welbeck (Brighton) and Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal)

Need to Keep: Ivan Toney, Canos, Marcondes and DaSilva.

Need to Sell: Luke Daniels, Joel Valencia, Said Benrahma and Charlie Goode

Brentford have been promoted to the Premier League for the first time in history, and will be aiming to make some solid loan and permanent signings to stay in the PL. The Man Utd duo would be two good midfielders to loan for one or two seasons, while experienced players like Welbeck, King, Long and Stephens would bring maturity and determination to the team. That being said, the Bees would most likely be focusing on how to convince Ivan Toney to stay after his marvelous goalscoring record has garnered interest for the frontman across Europe. They will also aim to keep attacking triplet Canos, Marcondes and Dasilva, all of whom have been instrumental in their promotion. Finally, Brentford will look to move on some squad players in order to bring in a bit of money to fund the incomings.

Finally, we have come to the end of the Transfer Analysis series. I hope you enjoyed reading my articles as much as I enjoyed writing them, and do look out for my next series, Weekly Transfer Updates.
